We understand that parents want to know how much childcare tuition rates are. So just in case you are wondering too, we have taken a few of the most frequently asked questions surrounding childcare rates and addressed them here.
What’s up with Tuition?
Why is childcare so expensive? I mean providers seem to be crazy with what they charge.
For most providers, there are several things that go into how tuition rates are structured. Hours of care, enrollment limitations, years of experience and the offerings of the program (like meals included) just to name a few.
Why don’t you post your rates here? Is it because you are probably too high and want to conceal just how much they are?
Again, there are several reasons why we have chosen not to list specific rates here. Although we understand that parents have budget concerns, we firmly believe that so much more should go into the decision of selecting childcare. We welcome the opportunity to meet with parents to show them the offerings of our special quality childcare program and hope they will use that information to make their selection.
Why are different providers rates more or less? Why is there such a difference in pricing?
Just as in any other field of employment, experience plays a big part. Less experienced providers may charge less than a provider with years and years of experience. Some other considerations would be what the program offers, the age of a child, etc.
Do you charge additional fees? If so why?
Depending on the needs of a family, there may be additional fees other than the standard tuition and enrollment fees. An example would be if an extended day (beyond 9 hours of care) is needed. In that case, an additional fee would be required.
Are there any ways to lower childcare rates?
YES! Our program offers tuition discounts. We offer sibling, monthly and quarterly discounts to our clients. In addition, we also accept subsidized care through several programs.
Ok, I get it. But can you at least give me a ballpark figure of your tuition fees?
Sure! The average local childcare rate is between $4.81-$8.52 per hour. As you may have noticed, that rate is far below the current state minimum wage of $12.00/hr.
